AI Thread Summary
TJ Wheatstone seeks assistance in troubleshooting Wheatstone circuits, specifically in identifying ID and IE while working with a resistor network. He has provided links to his calculations and documentation for reference. Despite successfully solving one problem, he struggles to reach the correct answer for another, detailed in his spreadsheet. Additional clarification on his objectives and specific issues would help others provide more targeted support. The discussion emphasizes the need for precise problem identification in circuit analysis.

I need some help in finding ID and IE the actual problem and parts I have figured out are at http://quasarsvc.bizland.com/Q40.doc and assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm going to move this to homework help, TJ

TJ,
I have looked at your problem, but I am not sure what you need.
What is the objective here? Can you specify a little more? What are you supposed to do with the resistor network to the right?

Wheatstone

I have been able to work one problem with the wheatstone formulas but for some reason I am missing something on working another one. I know what the answer is suppose to be but for some reason I can't seem to get there. Please see the spreadsheet where I have been doing my calculations http://quasarsvc.bizland.com/WheatstoneCircuit.xls the one I am having problems with is the one on the tab Q40 - the other problem worked out correctly. I am close but not there.

Thanks

Thread 'Variable mass system : water sprayed into a moving container'
Starting with the mass considerations #m(t)# is mass of water #M_{c}# mass of container and #M(t)# mass of total system $$M(t) = M_{C} + m(t)$$ $$\Rightarrow \frac{dM(t)}{dt} = \frac{dm(t)}{dt}$$ $$P_i = Mv + u \, dm$$ $$P_f = (M + dm)(v + dv)$$ $$\Delta P = M \, dv + (v - u) \, dm$$ $$F = \frac{dP}{dt} = M \frac{dv}{dt} + (v - u) \frac{dm}{dt}$$ $$F = u \frac{dm}{dt} = \rho A u^2$$ from conservation of momentum , the cannon recoils with the same force which it applies. $$\quad \frac{dm}{dt}...
TL;DR Summary: I came across this question from a Sri Lankan A-level textbook. Question - An ice cube with a length of 10 cm is immersed in water at 0 °C. An observer observes the ice cube from the water, and it seems to be 7.75 cm long. If the refractive index of water is 4/3, find the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. I could not understand how the apparent height of the ice cube in the water depends on the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. Does anyone have an...
