AI Thread Summary
To calculate 50e^(-0.00043448 * 5000) using a TI-30XA calculator, first compute the exponent by multiplying -0.00043448 by 5000, resulting in -2.1674. Next, find e raised to the power of -2.1674, which gives approximately 0.115. Finally, multiply this result by 50 to obtain the final answer of approximately 5.7. The key is to work from the inside out, starting with the exponent before multiplying by 50.

Im not allow to use TI-84 anymore and have to use TI-30XA. I need help putting in 50e^(-.00043448 * 5000). I did -.00043348*5000 first and got -2.1674. I have problem with this part. On the TI-84 I can do it but having trouble on my new calculator. I type 50e but it gives me 5.184705529^21. What do I do with the -2.1674? Do I add it, multiply or take the e of it? The answer is 5.7

Work your way inside-out. So take e first, then multiply by 50.

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Thread 'ChatGPT Examples, Good and Bad'
I've been experimenting with ChatGPT. Some results are good, some very very bad. I think examples can help expose the properties of this AI. Maybe you can post some of your favorite examples and tell us what they reveal about the properties of this AI. (I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
