Engineering What is the output voltage in this circuit?

AI Thread Summary
The output voltage at point A in the circuit is equal to the voltage of the AC source, as it is directly connected with no resistance in between. The DC source and resistor do not affect the voltage at point A due to the ideal short circuit created by the AC source. If there were a resistor between the source and point A, superposition could be used to calculate the voltage by considering each source separately. The final voltage at point A would be the sum of the contributions from both the AC and DC sources. Understanding these principles is crucial for analyzing circuits effectively.

I would like to know the output voltage in this circuit at label A. (I am a beginner , sorry for stupid questions if any? )

The circuit setup is a sine wave source (ideal) in parallel with DC source series with a resistor.

point A is at other end of AC source V
so voltage at A is V itself ...

what about dc source plus resistor

It is all dependent on the source impedance of the voltage source V. The way it is drawn, Rsource (Zsource) =0, so point A will be at V volts (it will follow the sinusoid) since it is a direct short.

if there were an R in between the source and node A, then you could determine the voltage there by using superposition and treating each voltage source separately (making the other voltage source 0) and using the voltage divider rule. The resulting value of A is the sum of the contributions from each source.

it doesn't matter .

Thread 'Have I solved this structural engineering equation correctly?'
Hi all, I have a structural engineering book from 1979. I am trying to follow it as best as I can. I have come to a formula that calculates the rotations in radians at the rigid joint that requires an iterative procedure. This equation comes in the form of: $$ x_i = \frac {Q_ih_i + Q_{i+1}h_{i+1}}{4K} + \frac {C}{K}x_{i-1} + \frac {C}{K}x_{i+1} $$ Where: ## Q ## is the horizontal storey shear ## h ## is the storey height ## K = (6G_i + C_i + C_{i+1}) ## ## G = \frac {I_g}{h} ## ## C...
