I agree and feel your pain. I had to go to the extended list of 12972 words.jack action said:The damn word was not on my list of 2309 possible answers!![]()
Yes, pretty good considering that you had 13 candidates left after the second guess.sbrothy said:Wordle 1,208 3/6*

This is a case where taking previous solutions into account would have guaranteed you a solution in 4.sbrothy said:Wordle 1,209 5/6*
Hm.
After sticking with the same seed word for about two years, I changed it recently to take previous solutions into account when considering most probable letters. My second word today was a choice between two candidates and guaranteed a solution in 3.Orodruin said:This is a case where taking previous solutions into account would have guaranteed you a solution in 4.
I am sticking with my seed until I get a 1. Just imagine changing your long-term seed just for it to appear as the solution a week later …. So I am sticking with it even if it is not optimal.kuruman said:Wordle 1,209 2/6

Ah, yes. I already got a 1 with the first seed and my new seed is already on the "used" list. I am content with one 1. My goal is a low mean and a low variance in my score distribution.Orodruin said:I am sticking with my seed until I get a 1. This is why I use semi-random seeds. I have a few favorites but I often just grab out of thin air. Years ago I played the same lottery number over & over, and I felt trapped.Orodruin said:Just imagine changing your long-term seed just for it to appear as the solution a week later …. According to my methodology of ranking seed words, yours comes in 2nd, behind SANER. But going through my 'seed history' vs 'average score', it ranks #18 when I've used it. Even odder than that, is the fact that BLARE was my best scoring seed*. Unfortunately it was the solution for the July 9th game, so I can't test it any more.Orodruin said:I am sticking with my seed until I get a 1.
