Any way to rip DVD movies into my hard drive?

AI Thread Summary
Ripping DVD movies to a hard drive for personal use is a topic of interest, particularly for those wanting to transfer purchased DVDs to devices like an iPod. While there are software options available for this purpose, the legality of ripping copy-protected DVDs varies by country and can be complicated by "fair use" laws. In some regions, such as the U.S., the legal status is ambiguous, leading to caution in discussing specific methods or software. The thread was ultimately locked due to these legal concerns. Users are advised to research their local laws regarding DVD ripping before proceeding.

I don't want to "pirate" any movies, but would like to rip DVD's that I bought into my computer so I can put them on my iPod.

Are there ways to rip copy protected DVD's with many chapters/episodes etc?

Which software allows me to do it? Is it legal?

Yes there are ways
Depending on the head on your coins it may or may not be legal
It isn't legal in the country hosting PF

so we can't tell you about it.

(hint - it may be 'FairUse' in your country)

I thought i-tunes came with software that did this? I know the software that came with my PMP does.

There is too fine of a line in the US concerning "fair use". Thread locked.

Thread 'Urgent: Physically repair - or bypass - power button on Asus laptop'
Asus Vivobook S14 flip. The power button is wrecked. Unable to turn it on AT ALL. We can get into how and why it got wrecked later, but suffice to say a kitchen knife was involved: These buttons do want to NOT come off, not like other lappies, where they can snap in and out. And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
