AI Thread Summary
A computer turning on automatically when a phone rings may be linked to modem settings, specifically the auto-answer feature, which can be disabled through the Control Panel. Additionally, slow computer performance could indicate a virus, despite having antivirus software like Norton installed. Updating the antivirus software is crucial, as recent viruses can significantly impact system speed and performance. Restarting the computer multiple times before it turns off may also suggest underlying issues that need addressing.

thank you!
