Reuters Group Limited, now a subsidiary of Thomson Reuters, primarily serves as a global news service and financial market data provider. Historically, news reporting contributed less than 10% of its income, with a stronger focus on delivering information and trading products to financial markets. This includes extensive analysis of companies, debt instruments, and economic data. Despite many news channels employing their own reporters, a significant number have downsized their staff and now rely on purchasing news content from agencies like Reuters, AP, and Bloomberg. Reuters specializes in analyzing news for its impact on financial markets and economies, providing valuable insights to its clients. Additionally, Thomson Reuters offers a range of services beyond news, including legal and business advice, as well as technology solutions.
