Other A concise book on basic chemistry

AI Thread Summary
A concise book on general chemistry under 300 pages is sought for beginners and review purposes. Recommendations include Pauling's "General Chemistry," which is approximately 250 pages, and Sienko and Plane's textbook, noted for its quality despite being older. Another suggestion is "Chemical Principles: The Quest for Insight" by Atkins and Jones, particularly the first hundred pages, which can often be found at low prices in used condition. These options cater to those looking for a foundational understanding of chemistry without overwhelming detail.

You might try finding a first edition of Pauling's General Chemistry, 250 pp..

at 300 pages it's not going to be very concise.

where to start for studying basic chemistry? help please, thank you :)

In High school and first year college, Sienko and Plane, Chemistry is quite good. But it is old

You might want to have a look at the first hundred pages or so of "Chemical Principles: the quest for insight" by Atkins and Jones.
You can buy a used edition (I bought the first edition for a penny) on Amazon or other used books stores and it will have the bonus of a full-fledged book attached to it.
