Abaqus: write surface mesh element detail

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on generating a surface mesh detail in Abaqus for a wing model that uses a hexahedral mesh. The user seeks assistance in creating a file that lists each element number alongside its four neighboring nodes, formatted as "element number, node1 node2 node3 node4." Despite creating node and element sets, the output file only includes the node and element numbers without the neighboring information. The user has attached a sample file for reference. The goal is to extract detailed surface mesh information from the hexahedral mesh.

Hi,

i need some help in writing the surface mesh in abaqus. i have a wing model, meshed using hexahedral mesh. now what i want is to write the surface element detail on a file, containing the element number and its neighbouring four nodes. for example

12, 2 3 5 6

here 12 is the element number and 2,3,5 & 6 are the corresponding nodes.

what i have tried uptill now is i have created the node / element set. but when i write these set on a file (.inp) i get only the node / element number not the neighbouring information.
so what i need is surface mesh detail form a hexahedral mesh.

** A sample file is attached of what i have created.

regards

I'm trying to decide what size and type of galvanized steel I need for 2 cantilever extensions. The cantilever is 5 ft. The space between the two cantilever arms is a 17 ft Gap the center 7 ft of the 17 ft Gap we'll need to Bear approximately 17,000 lb spread evenly from the front of the cantilever to the back of the cantilever over 5 ft. I will put support beams across these cantilever arms to support the load evenly
Thread 'What's the most likely cause for this carbon seal crack?'
We have a molded carbon graphite seal that is used in an inline axial piston, variable displacement hydraulic pump. One of our customers reported that, when using the “A” parts in the past, they only needed to replace them due to normal wear. However, after switching to our parts, the replacement cycle seems to be much shorter due to “broken” or “cracked” failures. This issue was identified after hydraulic fluid leakage was observed. According to their records, the same problem has occurred...
