It helps if you know people on the inside and at the contractors. Budgets are tight these days, so it may be difficult.

What type of aerospace - structures, aircraft, propulsion (jet or rocket), etc?

Certain centers focus on specific technologies.
 
Due to the constant never ending supply of "cool stuff" happening in Aerospace these days I'm creating this thread to consolidate posts every time something new comes along.
