AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the value of GRE preparation books and resources, particularly for individuals with limited financial means. Opinions vary widely, with some asserting that these materials are unnecessary, especially given the abundance of free resources available on the official GRE website. Many participants emphasize that utilizing free online content can sufficiently prepare candidates for the test, particularly in understanding its format. The only area where additional resources might be beneficial is vocabulary enhancement, with suggestions for inexpensive alternatives like flashcards. Overall, the consensus leans towards the idea that GRE books may not be worth the investment for those who can effectively use free materials.
