How to Find a Manufacturer for Custom 24V DC Gear Motor Assemblies?

AI Thread Summary
A company is seeking a manufacturer for a custom 24V DC gear motor assembly to actuate hydraulic ball valves, as they lack the expertise to design the product themselves. They require a motor with torque comparable to a 24V cordless Dewalt drill. Recommendations for manufacturers in the electronic motor industry are requested. One suggestion is Electric Apparatus Co. in Howell, MI, although the production capabilities of this company are uncertain. The discussion emphasizes the need for specialized design assistance in creating this component for their product line.

Maybe someone on these forums is associated with the electronic motor industry. My company is looking for a custom 24V dc gear motor assembly to actuate hydraulic ball valves. It would be a component we would offer with our product line. None of us have enough experience these types of devices to design a final product. We would be interested in finding a manufacturer to design to our specs. Something with the torque of a 24V Cordless Dewalt drill would be adequate.

Could anyone recommend a design manufacturer that might be able to help us?

I know that Rucker produces a vast range of hydraulics devices. I'll go see if I can find a link.

Okay, I'm back. Sorry dude... no joy there. I don't know if they've gone out of business or just aren't net-available.

What kind of production numbers are you talking about. I know of a small company here in Michigan that does custom drives and motors. I don't know too much about their production abilities though. You might give them a try.

Thanks, Fred. I'll give these guys a call.

Thread 'How can I find the cleanout for my building drain?'
I am a long distance truck driver, but I recently completed a plumbing program with Stratford Career Institute. In the chapter of my textbook Repairing DWV Systems, the author says that if there is a clog in the building drain, one can clear out the clog by using a snake augur or maybe some other type of tool into the cleanout for the building drain. The author said that the cleanout for the building drain is usually near the stack. I live in a duplex townhouse. Just out of curiosity, I...
Hi all, I have a question. So from the derivation of the Isentropic process relationship PV^gamma = constant, there is a step dW = PdV, which can only be said for quasi-equilibrium (or reversible) processes. As such I believe PV^gamma = constant (and the family of equations) should not be applicable to just adiabatic processes? Ie, it should be applicable only for adiabatic + reversible = isentropic processes? However, I've seen couple of online notes/books, and...
