AI Thread Summary
Plans for a valve-less pulse jet engine capable of 80 to 100 lbs of thrust are sought for a novel go-kart project using gas as fuel. A link to a DIY engine with 75 lbs of thrust is shared, highlighting the complexity of atomizing gasoline for safe operation. Concerns about the dangers of such a project are raised, with suggestions to consider simpler alternatives like a motorcycle engine. The original poster expresses ambition, planning to start with one engine and potentially adding a second for increased speed. The discussion emphasizes both the excitement and risks associated with building a pulse jet-powered go-kart.

Can anyone tell me where i might find plans for a valve less
pulse jet engine, with a thrust of about 80 to 100lbs, i want
to use it to power a novel gocart. i want to use gas as the
fuel if possible.

Hehehe, this sounds sweet!

Your idea sounds really cool.

After watching the Junkyards Wars episode where they built one of these and reading online I thought this was a dangerous enough concept. But with gasoline instead of propane so now you need to atomize the fuel properly to add yet another level of complexity - wow. You sir, are one ambitious guy. I would take the lazy way out and get a salvage motorcycle motor and call it a day.

Thanks everyone,
I plan to start with one engine, but if that is to slow i may use two, bolted
to a stock kart, and hopefully kick up a rumpus at the local drag strip.
any one have fire proof overalls spare?

Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
