Why Are Rainbows Formed?

AI Thread Summary
Rainbows are formed by the splitting of light as it passes through raindrops, with different wavelengths refracting at varying angles. This phenomenon creates a spectrum of colors that is visible in the sky when sunlight interacts with moisture. The process involves both refraction and reflection within the raindrop, leading to the characteristic arc shape of the rainbow. The angle of refraction is crucial in determining the order and visibility of the colors. Understanding this optical process helps explain the natural beauty of rainbows.

When you post a new thread, please try to give it a title that says something about what you're asking. I've changed the title of this thread accordingly.

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
