Robotic Table Tennis Player: Selecting Motors for High Response

AI Thread Summary
For a robotic table tennis player, high response and medium torque motors are essential for effective ball tracking and shot execution. Brushless DC servo motors are recommended due to their fast response times and high torque capabilities. It's crucial to consider motors that offer precision and accuracy for accurate racket movements. Variable speed control can enhance the robot's ability to perform different types of shots. Thorough research and testing of motor options will help identify the best fit for the project.

Hi i want to work on robotic table tennis player. So i am confuse that which kind of motors should i use. I need high response motors.

Engineering news on Phys.org
Just off the top of my head, and without much knowledge of your application, it sounds like you want to use a brushless DC servo motor.

Ok. I try to explain you.
1. We need to choose final year project For which i have to submit my report on it
2. The project we decided is robotic table tennis player
3. There will be camera and it will detect the motion of ball
4. According to this motion we need to move our rackets

So my question is What kind of motors do we need for Fast response and medium torque?

I maintain my answer from my previous post. Look up some brushless dc servo motors. Manufacturers websites typically have all the information you need, including peak torque and a torque vs. speed curve.

I would suggest considering motors that have high torque and fast response times. This will allow the robotic table tennis player to quickly react to the movements of the ball and return shots with precision. Additionally, motors with high precision and accuracy will also be important in order to accurately control the movements of the robotic player. It may also be beneficial to consider motors with variable speed control, as this can provide the flexibility needed for different types of shots in table tennis. Ultimately, it is important to carefully research and test different motor options to find the best fit for your specific project and goals.

Thread 'Weird near-field phenomenon I get in my EM simulation'
I recently made a basic simulation of wire antennas and I am not sure if the near field in my simulation is modeled correctly. One of the things that worry me is the fact that sometimes I see in my simulation "movements" in the near field that seems to be faster than the speed of wave propagation I defined (the speed of light in the simulation). Specifically I see "nodes" of low amplitude in the E field that are quickly "emitted" from the antenna and then slow down as they approach the far...
Hello dear reader, a brief introduction: Some 4 years ago someone started developing health related issues, apparently due to exposure to RF & ELF related frequencies and/or fields (Magnetic). This is currently becoming known as EHS. (Electromagnetic hypersensitivity is a claimed sensitivity to electromagnetic fields, to which adverse symptoms are attributed.) She experiences a deep burning sensation throughout her entire body, leaving her in pain and exhausted after a pulse has occurred...
