AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around the concept of a missile having an acceleration of 10% of the speed of light per turn, questioning the physical meaning of this acceleration in meters per second squared. The term "per turn" is clarified to likely refer to increments in velocity within a game context, specifically related to the "Rifts" game system, which incorporates elements from the Babylon-5 TV series. The inquiry also touches on the highest practical acceleration achieved in real-world physics, indicating a distinction between theoretical game mechanics and actual physical principles.

Never heard of it.
Are you making reference to a video game or something?
http://www.google.com/search?q="per+turn"+acceleration

Could it mean an increment in velocity for each turn of play in a game?
(I'm not a video gamer...) or for each complete orbit?
that is the place where from I quoted. my problem is which is the highest acceleration obtained in practice?

What does the word "turn" mean in this context?

It's a science fiction game conversion website as can be seen from it's URL. Therfore a turn is most likely a game turn.

The game system is called "Rifts" (see the bottom of the webpage) - thus the website is a description of how to implement Babylon-5 (a TV show) in the "Rifts" game system.

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
