Which Fluid Mechanics Book is Best for Beginners?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on seeking recommendations for beginner-friendly Fluid Mechanics textbooks, specifically comparing "Fluid Mechanics, 4th Ed." by Irving Granet and "Principles of Fluid Mechanics" by Andreas Alexandrou. The inquirer expresses difficulty with Frank M. White’s "Fluid Mechanics, 5th ed." due to its complexity. Additional inquiries arise regarding the relationship between Reynolds number and flow turbulence, as well as the connection between Bernoulli’s equation and the First Law of Thermodynamics. Participants are encouraged to provide insights and resources related to these topics.

Hi, I have notice that Ashcroft, Mermin and Wei worked at a revised edition of the original solid state physics book (here). The book, however, seems to be never available. I have also read that the reason is related to some disputes related to copyright. Do you have any further information about it? Did you have the opportunity to get your hands on this revised edition? I am really curious about it, also considering that I am planning to buy the book in the near future... Thanks!
