Determining speed and acceleration magnitude from graph

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on determining speed and acceleration from a provided graph. Key points include that the maximum speed occurs at 7 seconds, while acceleration at 15 seconds is less than at 38 seconds due to a change from zero to positive acceleration. It is noted that x-acceleration is zero at both 7 seconds and 58 seconds, indicating points of deceleration. The speed is zero at 23 seconds, and the speed at 46 seconds is greater than at 73 seconds. The user seeks clarification on these observations to complete their homework accurately.

Homework Statement

http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/598/prob16aaccelx2.gif

1:At 7 sec, the speed is as high as it gets.
2:The acceleration magnitude at 15 sec is ... the acceleration magnitude at 38 sec.
3:The x-acceleration is ... zero at 58 sec.
4:The speed is ... zero at 23 sec.
5:The speed at 46 sec is ... the speed at 73 sec.
6:The x-acceleration is ... zero at 7 sec .

Homework Equations

The answers can be any of the following, True, False, Equal to, less than.

The Attempt at a Solution

1: True, because the speed is the slope of the line, and this is the steepest slope.
2: Less than, because at 15 the acceleration is 0, and the acceleration at 38 is positive
3:Less than, because the car is decelerating
4: Equal to
5: Greater than
6: equal too, slope is constantI can't get all the answers right at once.

If you could help that would be great!

Thanks

Is the image showing up now?

Guys, I need to get this in 1 hour!

Please help correct me!

TL;DR Summary: I came across this question from a Sri Lankan A-level textbook. Question - An ice cube with a length of 10 cm is immersed in water at 0 °C. An observer observes the ice cube from the water, and it seems to be 7.75 cm long. If the refractive index of water is 4/3, find the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. I could not understand how the apparent height of the ice cube in the water depends on the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. Does anyone have an...
Thread 'Variable mass system : water sprayed into a moving container'
Starting with the mass considerations #m(t)# is mass of water #M_{c}# mass of container and #M(t)# mass of total system $$M(t) = M_{C} + m(t)$$ $$\Rightarrow \frac{dM(t)}{dt} = \frac{dm(t)}{dt}$$ $$P_i = Mv + u \, dm$$ $$P_f = (M + dm)(v + dv)$$ $$\Delta P = M \, dv + (v - u) \, dm$$ $$F = \frac{dP}{dt} = M \frac{dv}{dt} + (v - u) \frac{dm}{dt}$$ $$F = u \frac{dm}{dt} = \rho A u^2$$ from conservation of momentum , the cannon recoils with the same force which it applies. $$\quad \frac{dm}{dt}...
