He's an Irish Microbiologist living in the Netherlands. He is the funniest person I've ever met and I finally convinced him to join the forum. It would be nice if he stayed in one country for more than a week so I could figure out where in the world he is.

Welcome Red Rum! My favorite radio station (WKIT) is owned by Steven King. He and his wife Tabitha are trying to keep locally-owned live radio alive with local talent. You might want to tune in, if you like classic rock and blues.

Oh, and there's a GOOBF card for everyone that says hi. (get out of banning free) I haven't given those out in ages, not since a bunch of counterfiet GOOBF cards were discovered - yomamma.

Ahhh frozen fish is smelly too yak. I know something smelled fishy, just when I turn around. GOOBF cards? do you have a "B" there accidentally?

Wait a minute -- you just stated a cost one must bay to acquire a GOOBF card. How can you say it's free? Fraud! Fraud!

On second thought, though, since you've never actually met me...

Red Rum ? Cool name, does he have "the shining" thingy going on ? Or is he more the Jack Nicholson type ? Maybe because of living in the Netherlands for too long
Anyways, both ways are ok for me : Welcome Evo's second best friend.

 I'm starting to wonder if the fish slapping thing is scaring away the newcomers. Maybe I should see if he's visiting the Biology forum and just hasn't waded down into the pits yet?

Very intriguing indeed !
A funny microbiologist sounds like a oxymoron, but a delocalized is more likely to be realized in Nature :-p
So welcome to Red Rhum !
Is he also a friend of "the lady from Arles" ?
That would make sens to me

Red Rum (bay gelding, May 3, 1965–October 18, 1995. Sire: Quorum, dam: Mared) was a racehorse who achieved an unmatched historic treble when he won the Grand National in 1973, 1974 and 1977. [...] Not surprisingly, Red Rum became the country's best known and most loved racehorse.

"Rummy" became a national celebrity, opening supermarkets and annually leading the Grand National parade. [...] Several books have been written about Red Rum [...]

Fittingly, Rummy is buried at the winning post of the Aintree Racecourse which is still a destination for his fans today.
Quite amazing. And frankly, very funny to me

So when they make a statue of a horse, does it actually look like the horse being honored? Would other horses look at it and say, "hey, that's a statue of Red Rum"?

Sorry for the ot post, but you got to wonder.

I think this thread just broke the record for posts without the honoree showing up.

So, G01, beer or Near Beer? The Near Beer comes with a Nyquil shooter, the catch is, you have to drink them in a closet with Ivan.

Gosh, you new people didn't get to see the movies of all of our wild New Years Eve parties. :frown:

I'm sick of waiting, and have a Molson Golden going. Red Rum's going to have to get his own (probably imaginary) beer. I'm sure Evo can imagine her imaginary friend having an imaginary beer. (Too much time alone, I'm afraid...) Sad.

So, I'll skipped the end of work day and join for the party
I will bring stinky french cheese and heavy wine to drink with. :-p
I hope Red Rum makes it before we ate everything !
searching for stinky Roquefort, Comte, Reblochon and Morbier in the attic. Shall I take this Goat's milk one, it is really stinky ?
Eating cheese during high temperature days is a real delight

So you're the one that cleaned out Monty Python's Cheese Shop.

  • #45
I think I'm going to sit somewhere that humanino ISN'T with all that stinky cheese.

So, we have a choice between near beer and imaginary beer? Some party. I think Red Rum needs to bring, well, the rum!

I still cannot eat camembert. I remember going to the grocery store with my aunt in Paris and she was showing me how to "squeeze the cheese" to tell if it was ripe.

I could go for a croque monsieur right now.

But with enough wine, I guess I could eat some stnky cheese.

Well, it's just me and my sockpuppet right now. I've learned not to try to feed it or give it drinks, it gets really messy. :frown:
