Programs Is it worth taking ENV S classes as Chem E major?

AI Thread Summary
A fifth-year Chemical Engineering major is exploring the relevance of Environmental Science (ENV S) classes for a career in the Environmental Engineering industry. There is a suggestion that taking basic ENV S classes may lead to challenges with teaching assistants, indicating that these classes might not align well with engineering coursework. It is recommended to seek permission from faculty to enroll in higher-level ENV S courses, which could provide more valuable knowledge and skills relevant to the student's career goals.

Hi all,

I'm a 5th year Chem E major in which I'm interested in going into the Environmental E industry after college. I figured that Chem E would be pretty closely related, and I'm wondering if it'll be useful to take some basic ENV S classes before I graduate despite it not really be engineering classes.

Thanks!

"Basic" level is going to set you up for "head-butting" with TAs; get permission from faculty for as far upper level as you can.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
