Kinetic Friction Homework: Solve for Acceleration of 880 N Crate

AI Thread Summary
To find the acceleration of an 880 N crate being pulled with a 395 N force at a 25° angle, the normal force (Fn) must first be calculated using the weight of the crate and the vertical component of the applied force. The coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.25, which is used in the equation ma = uFn to determine the net force acting on the crate. The mass of the crate is derived by dividing its weight by the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s²). After substituting the values into the equations, the acceleration can be solved. The process emphasizes understanding the relationship between forces, friction, and acceleration.

Homework Statement

A 880 N crate is being pulled across a level floor by a force F of 395 N at an angle of 25° above the horizontal. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the crate and the floor is 0.25. Find the magnitude of the acceleration of the crate.

wow nevermind solved it...

found Fn first using the N of the crate and sin of the applied force, then i plugged that into

ma=uFn and found m by dividing 880 by 9.8 then just solved for a

Thread 'Voltmeter readings for this circuit with switches'
TL;DR Summary: I would like to know the voltmeter readings on the two resistors separately in the picture in the following cases , When one of the keys is closed When both of them are opened (Knowing that the battery has negligible internal resistance) My thoughts for the first case , one of them must be 12 volt while the other is 0 The second case we'll I think both voltmeter readings should be 12 volt since they are both parallel to the battery and they involve the key within what the...
Thread 'Correct statement about a reservoir with an outlet pipe'
The answer to this question is statements (ii) and (iv) are correct. (i) This is FALSE because the speed of water in the tap is greater than speed at the water surface (ii) I don't even understand this statement. What does the "seal" part have to do with water flowing out? Won't the water still flow out through the tap until the tank is empty whether the reservoir is sealed or not? (iii) In my opinion, this statement would be correct. Increasing the gravitational potential energy of the...
