Nodal Analysis , Can't Understand the direction of a current

AI Thread Summary
Nodal analysis involves applying Kirchhoff's current law to determine current directions in circuits. The direction of current arrows is arbitrary; choosing a direction that turns out to be incorrect will yield a negative value when solving the equations. Ultimately, the analysis will reveal the actual currents and their directions, regardless of the initial assumptions. Understanding this concept is crucial for correctly interpreting circuit behavior. The key takeaway is that the chosen direction does not affect the final results, only the sign of the calculated current.

Nodal Analysis , Can't Understand the direction of a current !

In This Question "Nodal Analysis" we will apply kirchhoffs current law ..

My Question is :

Why in Fig 8.51 and 8.52 the currents take these directions ??

i tried to get it but i couldn't

It doesn't matter which way you draw the arrows; it is arbitrary. If you picked the "correct" direction that current will be positive when you solve the system, but if you picked wrong it will be negative.

So in the end you will know the actual currents and their directions.
