Ontario Universities for Software Engineering

AI Thread Summary
Ontario universities like Waterloo and Toronto are highly regarded for their software engineering programs. Other notable options include Carleton and McMaster, which are often compared for their engineering offerings. Personal fit and faculty relationships are crucial in choosing the right university, as they can significantly impact career opportunities. Ultimately, the student's effort and engagement will determine their success, regardless of the institution. Selecting a university should involve visiting campuses and interacting with faculty to find the best match.

Helloo everyone,
I'm in Grade 12, Vancouver, B.C.
Actually I'm planning to apply to Universities in Ontario under "Software Engineering" for next year and need your guys help in deciding the best Universities.
Apart form Waterloo(UW) and Toronto(UofT) - which i'll be definitely applying to - which other universities in Ontario are considered best for their software engineering program?

If given an option, which one is better - Carleton or McMaster - keeping in mind their engineering program?

Would appreciate everyone's response and opinion!
Many Thanks

Hello,

Good to hear you are starting your applications. I am finishing up my final year in electrical engineering at The University of Western Ontario. I applied to and was accepted to both of the schools you mentioned, and I have never regretted my choice. You really need to find a school that fits you. When I was doing my selection, I was originally taken in by the allure of UW's reputation (as was I by UofT), but after visiting these schools, and meeting professors, and talking to people, I did not choose them.

The faculty here are great, I know a lot of the professors on a first name basis, and these relationships have opened doors with many employers and industry professionals. No matter what school you choose, your experience, what you learn, how well you do and how far you go is completely dependent on you and the effort you put in.

Hope your selection goes well.

Best of luck.

Hi all, I have a question. So from the derivation of the Isentropic process relationship PV^gamma = constant, there is a step dW = PdV, which can only be said for quasi-equilibrium (or reversible) processes. As such I believe PV^gamma = constant (and the family of equations) should not be applicable to just adiabatic processes? Ie, it should be applicable only for adiabatic + reversible = isentropic processes? However, I've seen couple of online notes/books, and...
Thread 'How can I find the cleanout for my building drain?'
I am a long distance truck driver, but I recently completed a plumbing program with Stratford Career Institute. In the chapter of my textbook Repairing DWV Systems, the author says that if there is a clog in the building drain, one can clear out the clog by using a snake augur or maybe some other type of tool into the cleanout for the building drain. The author said that the cleanout for the building drain is usually near the stack. I live in a duplex townhouse. Just out of curiosity, I...
I have an engine that uses a dry sump oiling system. The oil collection pan has three AN fittings to use for scavenging. Two of the fittings are approximately on the same level, the third is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch higher than the other two. The system ran for years with no problem using a three stage pump (one pressure and two scavenge stages). The two scavenge stages were connected at times to any two of the three AN fittings on the tank. Recently I tried an upgrade to a four stage pump...
