AI Thread Summary
To solve acceleration, velocity, distance, and displacement word problems for 8th Grade physical science, it is essential to understand the equations of motion. These equations relate the different variables and can be found in educational resources like Wikipedia. For practical examples, students can refer to physics textbooks or online educational platforms that provide problem-solving strategies. Additionally, local libraries often have reference materials that can help clarify these concepts. Utilizing these resources will aid in grasping the necessary skills to tackle motion-related problems.

I don't know where to go for this topic, but does antone know how to solve acceleration, velocity, distance, and displacement word problems for 8th Grade physical science? I need to know because i was on tour for 3 days and the teacher won't tell me how. "Go find it in the public library," she said, and i don't have any i dea where to look what do i do? :(

Thread 'Variable mass system : water sprayed into a moving container'
Starting with the mass considerations #m(t)# is mass of water #M_{c}# mass of container and #M(t)# mass of total system $$M(t) = M_{C} + m(t)$$ $$\Rightarrow \frac{dM(t)}{dt} = \frac{dm(t)}{dt}$$ $$P_i = Mv + u \, dm$$ $$P_f = (M + dm)(v + dv)$$ $$\Delta P = M \, dv + (v - u) \, dm$$ $$F = \frac{dP}{dt} = M \frac{dv}{dt} + (v - u) \frac{dm}{dt}$$ $$F = u \frac{dm}{dt} = \rho A u^2$$ from conservation of momentum , the cannon recoils with the same force which it applies. $$\quad \frac{dm}{dt}...
