What if the packing parameter of a lipid structure is greate

AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around understanding the structural differences between phospholipids PA (phosphatidic acid), PC (phosphatidylcholine), and PE (phosphatidylethanolamine) based on their properties in relation to a given slide. It is noted that as the value approaches 1, the structure resembles a bilayer, suggesting that phosphatidylcholine (PC) likely forms a bilayer. The conversation seeks clarity on the structural characteristics of PA and PE, with participants attempting to deduce their configurations from the provided information. Overall, the focus is on the lipid bilayer formation and the implications of the structural properties of these phospholipids.

This is the slide we have been given in class

So what on Earth would the structure of PA, PC and PE be? I understand the closer to 1 it would be a bilayer so PC is likey a bilayer but can't understand what the others would be from this slide, does anyone have any ideas?

The study provides critical new insights into the African Humid Period, a time between 14,500 and 5,000 years ago when the Sahara desert was a green savanna, rich in water bodies that facilitated human habitation and the spread of pastoralism. Later aridification turned this region into the world's largest desert. Due to the extreme aridity of the region today, DNA preservation is poor, making this pioneering ancient DNA study all the more significant. Genomic analyses reveal that the...
