How Can I Solve the Ansoft Maxwell 3D Error for Larger Simulation Regions?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on resolving an error in Ansoft Maxwell 3D related to setting current on a face within a simulation region. Users encounter an issue where the external terminal must align with the problem region's edge, leading to confusion about how to properly configure the simulation region. One suggested solution involves ensuring the region's edges are aligned with the ends of the current path, such as a copper bar, to facilitate proper current flow. Additionally, there are mentions of mesh quality errors during simulations, indicating that users may need to adjust their mesh settings for better solver acceptance. Overall, participants seek clarification on setting region overlaps and improving mesh quality for successful simulations.

Hi,
I'm tring to explore magnetic field of the contact system, but when I set the current on a face, i have the next error:

"An external terminal must border the edge of the problem region and coincides with the surface of a 3D object"

I solve this problem when I set region overlap with this current, but then the region is too small.
I tried to make object from face, but it didn't work...
Can enybody help me? I need bigger region...can't understand what requirements have this software for this type of exciatations?

Sorry for my english...

Hi,
I have the same problem, can you describe for me how you solve this problem by setting region overlap with this current? I don't know what it means to set region overlap.

Thank you

If your current path is open ended, for example, a copper bar from left to right along Y axis, then your region must be set so that the edges of the region on the left and right will be on the same plane as the ends of the copper bar. This will ensure the current is coming into the region and then going out of the region. If you use percentage to set your region, meaning +y and -y are set to Zero, and x and z can be 100 or 200 percentage.

Hi,
I'm trying to simulate a linear induction motor using ansoft maxwell 3d design, but the following error occurs:

"Mesh quality of some elements is not accepted by solver."

Can anybody help me?

Thread 'I need a concave mirror with a focal length length of 150 feet'
I need to cut down a 3 year old dead tree from top down so tree causes no damage with small pieces falling. I need a mirror with a focal length of 150 ft. 12" diameter to 36" diameter will work good but I can't think of any easy way to build it. Nothing like this for sale on Ebay. I have a 30" Fresnel lens that I use to burn stumps it works great. Tree service wants $2000.
Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
