Control System Design Homework Help

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on a control system design homework problem involving parameter determination using MATLAB. The user seeks clarification on how to verify the correct zero value in their design process. A suggested solution involves using the rltool in MATLAB to select specifications and adjust the zero until the closed loop poles are positioned correctly. This method allows for the identification of upper and lower bounds for the zero value. The conversation emphasizes practical steps to achieve the desired control system parameters effectively.

How can I know I got the correct set of parameter in step 5. I did everything using MATLAB but couldn't figure out how to get the right value of the zero.

Just use rltool, choose your specifications and then vary the zero such that the closed loop poles lie inside the area that isn't shaded. You should be able to identify an upper and lower bound for the zero.
