Why support for diving board case is assume as pin/roll?
Sorry for silly question, but have been wondering. Diving board it is bolted to the ground(base platform) (vertically), why not assume it as fix. the way bolt is secured is same direction as the load, hence it is not easy/resist to rotate up and down like pin or hinge. so there is moment. Tension force and a board fixed to a flat surface
A heavy board is fixed to another flat surface along its entire upper edge and not moving. How can I find the tension force that is acting on the board? Is it the same as if the board would be fixed to a string in the middle of the upper edge and hung and then the tension would be T=mg?- amateur111

Spark with connecting power supply to board
When I connect a DC power supply to a board, why do I get a spark. I connect the ground terminal first and then the Vcc terminal(24V). When I connect Vcc with an alligator clip, I get a spark. Is it because of charging of the bulk storage capacitor?- likephysics
