Need Physics Senior Project ideas

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on a high school senior project focused on the physics of deep space and interstellar travel. The project aims to explore concepts like warp drives, although practical implementation is not feasible. Participants clarify the distinction between deep space and interstellar travel, emphasizing the latter's focus on traveling to other stars. Suggestions for project ideas include researching interstellar travel concepts such as Project Orion, solar sails, generation ships, and Bussard ramjets. The conversation highlights the need for a clear understanding of the project's scope to generate relevant ideas.

Problem:
I have to do a required senior project for high school. My topic is the general physics behind deep space travel. (like humans traveling to other solar systems in reasonable time).
I need to do a project on it but do not know what exactly to do. Please Give Me Ideas!

Basically, I would like to build a warp drive for a spaceship. I obviously can't do this but that's the kind of thing i would like to do. Keep this in mind when thinking of other ideas.

Please Help!

Are you doing the project on deep space travel or interstellar travel? "Deep space" usually refers to the far reaches of the solar system, not to other stars.

If you're actually researching interstellar travel, try Wiki'ing these to get you started:

Interstellar travel
Project Orion
Solar sail
Generation ship
Bussard ramjet

Yeah, I'm researching Interstellar Travel

TL;DR Summary: I came across this question from a Sri Lankan A-level textbook. Question - An ice cube with a length of 10 cm is immersed in water at 0 °C. An observer observes the ice cube from the water, and it seems to be 7.75 cm long. If the refractive index of water is 4/3, find the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. I could not understand how the apparent height of the ice cube in the water depends on the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. Does anyone have an...
Kindly see the attached pdf. My attempt to solve it, is in it. I'm wondering if my solution is right. My idea is this: At any point of time, the ball may be assumed to be at an incline which is at an angle of θ(kindly see both the pics in the pdf file). The value of θ will continuously change and so will the value of friction. I'm not able to figure out, why my solution is wrong, if it is wrong .
