Extended explanation
|
When the nuclei of two different elements have the same neutron excess (number of neutrons minus the number of protons), there are termed isodiaspheres.
Example:
Lithium 7 has three protons and 4 neutrons
Beryllium 9 has 4 protons and 5 neutrons
Boron 11 has 5 protons and 6 neutrons
Potassium 39 has 19 protons and 20 neutrons.
Each of these nuclei has one more neutron than proton, making them isodiaspheres.
Another example is Cobalt 59 and Copper 63, each with a 5 neutron excess. |
