what is time? does time have anything to do in our universe or is it just something we humans have made up?

You know what, thats a great question. I guess its somthing we made up to mesure how long thing take in the universe. So both. Look at my blog pleasePosted Aug1-09 at 01:48 AM by Locke23

The idea of time is how we measure the past and the future and I think we made it up. Then we started to measure time with clocks and time became dependant on our physical universe. Now we can measure time running faster in less gravity and slower in more gravity and you wonder is time something that we made up or is it a quality of the space-time you're in? In human terms the older I get the faster time seems to go by, but in our universe the space-time clock is running a different speeds depending where you are so the speed of light can stay constant. In our universe if the clock in space-time slows to a stop then what? Light flight stops and I think space-time has become the something new, the density of matter.Posted Aug5-09 at 05:24 PM by Eidnar1

Time is sumthing we "humans" have created in order to measure everything. We need this observed (constant) measurement in order to translate other observed data into something we can understand. The unfortunate thing is that our perception of time differs depending on where in the universe we may be, as gravity effect time. Essentially the larger and more condenced the planet, the more gravity. Not only that but we measure time in "earth" hours, due to the time it takes to perform a revolution on its axis. Obviously an earth hour differes from say a mercury hour.Posted Aug6-09 at 10:14 AM by Naomidixon
