Trexler Nature Preserve

Another hiking update...
I've done a lot of hiking on the Appalachian trail along the northern border of the Lehigh Valley, and I have to say I really enjoy it. But one thing that always makes for a great hiking trip is to be able to make circular routes instead of in and back hikes. One area you can create your own circular route in the Lehigh Valley area is the Trexler Nature Preserve. I just discovered this area over the summer and have gone there 3 times now, each time over a different course. There are lots of trails and combinations of trails which makes it unique in the area. Also, the fact it has a lot of up and down terrain means you can get some excersize and great vistas at the same time. Flat terrain always seems a bit boring to me.
Attached is a map of the area and a picture I took at one overlook in the area. This picture was taken near Kiosk #13 looking south as seen on the map. There are lots of fantastic views in the area, especially this time of year when all the leaves have fallen off the trees allowing you to see clearly from the top of the ridges.
